First, a brief history: Clear Creek Community Theatre originated as a group of local creative individuals who produced and performed plays at Clear Creek High School. In 1965, we presented our first official production, “Tom Jones”, under the name Clear Creek Country Theatre. Our initial venue was a refurbished movie theater, The Old Rose Theatre in League City.
Following Hurricane Alicia, repair costs for that building became prohibitive, leading to CCCT’s “nomad decade” in the 1980s, during which performances were held at various locations including:
- UHCL Auditorium
- Bob Mills Red Barn Restaurant & Club in Kemah
- Bob Mills Dinner Theatre in Kemah
- VFW Hall in Dickinson
- League City Recreation Center
- League City Civic Center
- 805 Harris Street in Kemah
- The Days Inn Motel on NASA Road 1
In 1999, we relocated to a new home in Nassau Bay, which served us well for 20 years until it was demolished in 2020 to accommodate Methodist Hospital’s expansion to better serve the community. Consequently, CCCT found itself without a permanent location once again. Over the past five years, we have performed at various venues in the Clear Lake area including:
- Kayla Sullivan Hall
- Bayou Theatre at UH–Clear Lake
- Webster Presbyterian Church–Fellowship Hall
- Seabrook Community House
While we are immensely grateful to these venues for their hospitality, it is imperative that CCCT secures a new permanent home. Building a new facility requires substantial resources, and we seek your financial support.
