AUDITION NOTICE
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Clear Creek Community Theatre is excited to announce auditions for A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Sunday and Monday, August 23 and 24 th at 7pm, at the CCCT rehearsal space( 2nd floor Educational Building) at Webster Presbyterian Church (201 West NASA Parkway)
Rehearsal will be held in the evenings. The Fairy entourage may require a weekend depending on actors’ schedules. Rehearsal schedule will be finalized based on casting and schedule coordination.
The performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at League City Park. This production will be open to the public and is the first of what will become an annual tradition for Clear Creek Community Theatre and the League City Parks Department.
The much beloved Shakespeare classic – A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a romantic comedy about the chaos that ensues when the human and fairy worlds collide in a mythical Athenian forest.
Character List
The Athenian Court
- Theseus: The Duke of Athens, who is preparing for his upcoming wedding.
- Hippolyta: The Queen of the Amazons, who is betrothed to Theseus
- Egeus: An Athenian nobleman and Hermia’s father
- Philostrate: The Master of the Revels, responsible for the Duke’s wedding

The Four Young Lovers
- Hermia: Egeus’s daughter, who is in love with Lysander but ordered to marry Demetrius
- Lysander: A young Athenian gentleman who is deeply in love with Hermia
- Demetrius: A young Athenian gentleman favored by Egeus, initially in love with Hermia
- but pursued by Helena
- Helena: Hermia’s lifelong friend, who is deeply in love with Demetrius
The Fairies
- Oberon: King of the Fairies, who instigates the magic love-potion chaos
- Titania: The prod Queen of the Fairies, married to Oberon
- Puck (Robin Goodfellow): Oberon’s mischievous jester and servant sprite
- First Fairy: A representative of Titania’s court
- Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed : Titania’s loyal fairy servants
The Mechanicals (Working Class Actors)
- Nick Bottom: A bumbling weaver who plays Pyramus
- Peter Quince: A carpenter and director of the play within the play
- Francis Flute: – A bellows mender forced to play Thisbe.
- Tom Snout: A tinker who portrays the Wall
- Snug: A joiner who plays the Lion
- Robin Starveling: A tailor who plays the part of Moonshine
We are also casting younger actors age 6 to 13 as additional fairies to be part of
Oberon and Titania’s entourage. They will participate in a song and dance but are not
required to memorize lines.
